The facts are you can’t enjoy your food without having an appetite. On other hand, the food that you have taken must be well digested for better health results.
Nowadays, most of the people suffer the loss of appetite and digestion problems. That may be due to stress, depression and general lifestyle.
The good news is there are kinds of drinks that may help you boost your appetite and enhance the food digestion. Can you imagine getting an appetite for just Sippy of drink? Or attain better digestion process for just little glass?
I have decided to write this post; to share with you best aperitifs and digestifs you can take to enhance food appetite and helps you with food digestion.

Before we jump to the list lets understand what is aperitifs and Digestifs
Aperitifs refer to an alcoholic drink served before a meal to stimulate the appetite while Digestifs refers to an alcoholic drink served after a meal to aid digestion.
According to my experience, the following are the best aperitifs.
This is number one on my list. Pernod is a yellow, aniseed-flavoured liqueur from France. The best thing about Pernod is you can just mix it with other drinks. I like it when turns cloudy once mixed with other liquids.
Pernod can be best served and enjoyed once mixed with Ice and water, or Lemonade.
You can get pernod in any big liquor store or hotel.
This is another best drink for your appetite. It is known as The Queen of England Dubonnet and Gin drinks.
It is a type of red and sweet vermouth commonly mixed with lemonade or bitter lemon. If it is available in your area I urge you to give it a try.
Now we have Campari. If you love bitter drinks, you have to try this. Campari is a bright red, bitter orange flavoured beverage.
It serves you better when mixed with Soda water or orange juice, with ice and a slice of orange.
This is another kind of drink which can boost your appetite.
It is a clear, slightly acidic drink. Serve straight with ice and lemon Mix with Gin to make a classic Martini, you are going to love it
This is Red, sweet vermouth. It tastes better once served with ice, lemonade and a slice of lemon
This is closing our aperitifs list. It is a Dark brown and aromatic drink. The best thing about pimms is that it has its own cocktail.
In nutshell, to make pimms cocktail take one slice of orange, lemon, apple, cucumber per person and one sprig of mint and add to two parts lemonade to one part Pimms.

According to my experience, the following are the best Digestifs
These are the good Digestifs. The good thing about port wines is you can take it before or after the meal.
They have a sweet, rich taste with generally higher alcohol content than other wines. It is an excellent accompaniment to blue vein cheese, dried fruit, nuts, chocolate and pate.
The best port wines you can drink are Quinta de la Rosa Vintage Port 2003, Graham’s Vintage Port 2003, Warre’s Vintage Port 2000 and Taylor’s Vintage Port 1985.
This is another best style of wines for Digestifs. Sherry wines are commonly made in Spain and they comes from three types of grapes fortified i.e Palomino – dry, Pedro Ximénez – sweet and Moscatel – sweet.
Other sherry wines you can try include Tio Pepe and Harveys.
This is a type of drink which is made from distilled white wine. The good thing about cognac you can use it as either an aperitif or digestif. It serves better when you mix it with ice or cocktail.
Cognac is categorized by age designations, most commonly V.S., V.S.O.P., and X.O.
V.S means Very special which entails that the liquid aged in barrels at least two years. The best V.S cognac includes Hennesy and H. Mounier LaFayette.
V.S.O.P means Very Special or Superior which entails that the liquid aged in barrels at least four years. The best V.S.O.P are D’usse, hardy, hine, and frapin,
X.O means Extra Old which entails that the liquid aged in barrels at least 10 years. The best X.O cognacs include Hennessy Master Blender’s Selection No. 3, Remy martin, Camus Borderies.

The bottom line is the best aperitifs includes Pernod, Dubonnet, Campari, Dry Vermouth, Rosso Vermouth and Pimms while the best Digestifs are port wine, sherry and cognac.
